Good Side Image – WordPress Plugin

Posted in WordPress · November 21st, 2011 by Kazim · Comments (2)

I’m happy to announce the first official plugin I created, the idea was from a long time in my mind but I didn’t have any time to work on it. In previous days I received few queries regarding this and a very last query said they need it on 6 sites. I said I’m going to create a plugin so as I did.

Good Side Image – WordPress Plugin

This plugins simply shows the image in sidebar based on post or page custom field. To show the image in the sidebar, simply drag and drop the widget named ‘Good Side Image’ in desired sidebar and set a width or height there.

Some good custom fields and their functions

  • postimg: This custom field is simply use to link image, if we have no img, none of the image would be shown and both below custom fields are useless. The input data examples are.
    • wp-content/uploads/something
    • http://www.example.com/anyimage.jpg
  • postalt: It is use to insert the alt into the image you’re inserting through postimg. If you leave this empty, or don’t create it the alt will be the post title.
  • postlink: In case if you want to link the image to somewhere.

I was thinking that template tags… and?

Take it easy mate, if something goes wrong we’ve template tags ready or if you want to use them in development you simply can do it by following.
